We act with the awareness that reducing food loss and food waste is an inseparable and critical part of our food-safety management system. A systematic policy to prevent food loss and waste has been established, is implemented and is reviewed periodically.

This policy covers all processes from raw-material procurement through production, processing, storage, distribution and delivery of the finished product to the customer, and supply-chain activities.

Accordingly, our organisation commits to:

  • minimising loss of food before it reaches the consumer due to disruptions in production, processing, storage and distribution,
  • reducing food waste arising from products discarded at retail or final consumption despite still being suitable for consumption,
  • managing products donated to non-profit organisations, employees or other organisations and applying the controls needed to ensure suitability for human consumption,
  • keeping surplus products and by-products intended for animal feed or food under control to prevent contamination risk,
  • carrying out all practices to reduce food loss and waste in line with applicable law without adversely affecting food safety,
  • providing training at least once a year to raise employee awareness,
  • monitoring targets under a target-tracking plan and reviewing performance at least once a year in management review meetings.
